A walk around the Maritime Mile is sure to clock up 10,000 heritage steps all while enjoying beautiful waterfront views and visiting some of Belfast’s iconic heritage giants.
Your first port of call – the Odyssey and Abercorn Marina. There you will find SoundYard, an impressive installation that recreates the sounds of hammering once heard from the shipyards. SoundYard is beautifully lit up every evening, the sights (and sounds) are not to be missed!
Continue around the harbour, past the Belfast Buoys and the dazzling lights to the Hamilton Dock, home to the SS Nomadic. This ship was the tender to RMS Titanic and the last remaining White Star Line ship in the world! Discover the historic ship’s decks, funnels and gangways elegantly illuminated. The bright lights at Titanic Belfast are a spectacular sight to behold.
The building is illuminated, and the cascading lights are almost as tall as Titanic’s bow! For the perfect picture moment, head to the Titanic Sign – the ultimate backdrop for that all important Instagram shot.
Your final stop on the Harbour Lights Walk is the Great Light, one of the largest optics of its kind ever built in the world and is around 130 years old, illuminated for everyone to see at night. Fancy going a little further? Head round to HMS Caroline and Titanic Distillers @ the Thompson Dock.
So, wrap up warm and discover the lights of the Maritime Mile!
