Hour One: Waterways Belfast Boat Tour

Hour Two: Window on Wildlife

Hour One:

Make your way to the Big Fish and hop on the Lady of the Lagan for a boat tour. It’s the best way to spot Belfast’s large breeding seal colony in Belfast Lough – over 50 seals were counted here in 2017! The family of Seal sculptures at City Quays pays tribute to the seals seen in the River Lagan and Harbour.

Hour Two:

After the boat tour, if you’re feeling energetic you can hire a Belfast Bike and cycle out to Belfast’s Window on Wildlife at the far end of the Harbour estate. The nature reserve is home to over 180 species of birds and wildlife from all over the world. Waders, including black-tailed godwit, redshank, lapwing, dunlin and snipe. Ducks, including teal, shelduck and wigeon. Water birds, including water rail, heron, various gulls and nesting terns in the summer. The lagoon at Belfast WOW is carefully managed to create the right habitat for all the species that make their homes here.

You can also grab a 94 or 94B bus from Custom House Square to take you out to Window on Wildlife.
